Learn to Tell the Story Behind Your Work

The Floyd Center for the Arts is excited to partner with 'Round the Mountain, a sponsor of the 4th Annual Floyd Living Traditions Festival, to host a professional development workshop designed specifically for artists and artisans.

A well-crafted story can be just as powerful as the work itself. Whether you're speaking with customers at an art market, writing an artist statement, interviewing with the media, or promoting your work online, your ability to communicate the inspiration, process, and meaning behind your work helps build lasting connections with your audience.

Join us on Friday, August 14, from 3–6 PM at the Floyd Center for the Arts for the 'Round the Mountain Storytelling Workshop. Participants will explore practical techniques for sharing their creative journey through artist statements, interviews, marketing materials, and conversations with visitors, collectors, and customers.

This interactive workshop is ideal for emerging and established artists who want to strengthen their communication skills, better represent their work, and grow their creative practice.

Registration is required.

We are grateful to 'Round the Mountain for their continued partnership and support of the Floyd Living Traditions Festival, helping strengthen the creative economy and celebrate the artists and artisans of Southwest Virginia.
