Call for Entries: New Works 2026

The Floyd Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the Call for Entries for New Works 2026, a juried exhibition celebrating the bold ideas, fresh perspectives, and evolving creative practices of artists across our region.
In keeping with the Floyd Center for the Arts' mission to connect people through visual arts, handmade craft, and music while honoring living traditions and embracing innovation, New Works 2026 showcases artwork that reflects experimentation, growth, and artistic exploration. Whether through new materials, innovative techniques, or contemporary interpretations of traditional forms, this exhibition highlights the exciting directions regional artists are taking today.
Artists are invited to submit work created within the past two years that demonstrates their unique artistic voice and commitment to pushing the boundaries of their practice. The exhibition encour
ages dialogue between artists and audiences while celebrating the vitality of our regional arts community.
This is a juried exhibition. The juror for New Works 2026 will be announced in August.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
Be 18 years of age or older.
Live within a 150-mile radius of the Floyd Center for the Arts.
Submit artwork completed within the past two years.
Submit original work in any visual art medium.
Additional requirements:
Video submissions must include both the digital file and any necessary display equipment, along with installation instructions.
Artists submitting three-dimensional work must provide any required display materials or installation instructions.
Accepted artwork must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. No substitutions will be permitted.
Awards
Awards will be presented for:
First Place – $200
Second Place – $150
Third Place – $100
People's Choice Award – $50
Important Dates
Call Opens: Friday, July 31, 2026
Application Deadline: Friday, August 28, 2026
Jury Period: August 29 – September 6, 2026
Artist Notifications: Tuesday, September 8, 2026
Artwork Delivery
September 8 – September 16, 2026
Hand-delivered artwork will be accepted during regular gallery hours:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 12–5 PM
Saturday: 10 AM–5 PM
Shipped artwork must arrive no later than Wednesday, September 16 at 5 PM.
Artists shipping work must include a prepaid return shipping label. If a return label is not provided, a $20 administrative fee will be added to the return shipping cost, and the artist will be invoiced before artwork is returned.
Artists delivering large, heavy, or complex works should coordinate installation assistance with Floyd Center for the Arts staff.
Exhibition
October 3 – November 21, 2026
Opening Reception: Saturday, October 3, 2026 | 4–6 PM
All accepted artwork will be exhibited in the Hayloft Gallery, the Floyd Center for the Arts' premier exhibition space showcasing outstanding regional artists.
Entry Details
$25 non-refundable application fee.
Submit up to three artworks.
Applications must be submitted online through Call for Entry.
Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping costs.
Sales & Commission
Artwork may be offered for sale during the exhibition. The Floyd Center for the Arts retains a 40% commission on all sales, with 60% paid to the artist via ACH payment.
Liability
While every reasonable precaution will be taken in handling artwork, the Floyd Center for the Arts is not responsible for loss or damage during shipping, delivery, storage, handling, installation, exhibition, or return. Artists are encouraged to insure their artwork during transit and for the duration of the exhibition.
Submission of artwork constitutes acceptance of these terms.

We encourage artists to review the full prospectus and submit up to three works that represent their strongest and most innovative recent work. Applications must be received by Friday, August 28, 2026.
