The Floyd Center for the Arts invites artists to submit work for Shared Threads: Fiber Processes Hand to Hand, a curated exhibition celebrating the artistry, innovation, and enduring traditions of fiber arts.
Fiber is more than a material. It is a way of making, connecting, and preserving knowledge across generations. Shared Threads explores fiber as both process and practice, featuring functional and decorative works that honor traditional techniques while embracing contemporary approaches. From heirloom crafts to experimental fiber-based practices, this exhibition celebrates the skill, creativity, and stories woven into every piece.
Artists are encouraged to submit both finished works and works in progress, giving visitors the opportunity to experience not only completed artwork but also the creative journey behind it. Functional and decorative works are welcome, and submissions may incorporate any material, provided the work demonstrates a fiber-based process.
