Floyd Plein Air Quick Draw | September 18

Calling All Artists: Join the Floyd Plein Air Friday Night Quick Draw!
You don’t have to be one of the 30 juried artists in the 5th Floyd Plein Air Biennial to pick up your brushes and join the fun! The Friday Night Quick Draw Non-Competition Division is open to the public, giving artists of all experience levels an opportunity to participate in one of the most exciting events of Biennial Week.
The Friday Night Quick Draw takes place Friday, September 18 from 6–9 PM in downtown Floyd during the Friday Night Jamboree. Artists will have just three hours to create a painting from start to finish as downtown fills with artists, visitors, music, and the energy of a Friday night in Floyd.
Participate in the Quick Draw
Public artists can register for the Non-Competition Division for $15. Participants will paint alongside the Biennial’s juried artists while competing in a separate award pool specifically for non-competition participants.
Artists who complete their work during the Quick Draw will also have the option to include their painting in the Quick Draw Exhibition at the Floyd Center for the Arts. Artwork included in the exhibition must be delivered to the Center by 9:30 PM on Friday, September 18.
The exhibition will remain on view through the conclusion of the Public Gala Celebration & Art Sale at 9 PM on Saturday, September 19, giving participating artists another opportunity to share their work with the community. Artwork may also be offered for sale through the Floyd Center for the Arts.
Awards for the Non-Competition Division will be presented during the Public Gala Celebration & Art Sale on Saturday evening.
Registration
The registration fee is $15 per artist and must be paid before the start of the Quick Draw for participants to be eligible for the exhibition and award pool.
