This fall, the Floyd Center for the Arts proudly presents three captivating exhibitions that celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, and the diverse voices of regional artists.

New Works 2025 – Hayloft Gallery
Juried by Brian Holcombe, Curator at the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech, New Works 2025 showcases 45 regional artists from Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia. Featuring 62 works across a wide range of media — including ceramics, wood, glass, fiber, metal, photography, and mixed media — the exhibition highlights the energy and innovation of contemporary art being made within 150 miles of Floyd.
This year’s juror, Brian Holcombe, noted that jurying the show was “a true honor — the work reflects inventiveness, skill, and a deep curiosity about the world around us.”

Award Recipients:
🥇 The Undoing of Being – AnaMarie Liddell
🥈 Souls Need the Second World – Sung Eun Park
🥉 …these very rich hours #6… – Charlie Brouwer
Together, these works reveal an ongoing conversation about place, process, and perspective — showcasing the depth of talent in our region’s art community.
Savannah Penven, the Exhibitions Program Manager at the Center for the Arts at VT represented Brian and gave opening remarks and presented awards. Savannah also has 3 works in the show!

Atmospheric Enchantments & Earthly Astonishments – Falcon Gallery
In her solo exhibition, Gina Louthian-Stanley invites viewers into a meditative world of color, texture, and light. Using encaustic and cold wax mediums, Gina’s layered works explore the beauty and mystery of nature and the organic edges of the world around us.

Don’t miss Gina’s upcoming Artist Talk on Saturday, October 25 at 2 PM, where she’ll share more about her process and inspiration.

Memories Fading into Oblivion – Breezeway Gallery
Photographer Dr. Russ Young captures the quiet poetry of Floyd County through black-and-white and digital images that explore time, memory, and transformation. A Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, Dr. Young blends traditional silver-based techniques with modern technology, honoring both the craft and spirit of photography.
