If you're looking for a weekend filled with creativity, community, and countryside charm, mark your calendar for June 7 & 8, 2025. From 10 AM to 5 PM each day, the 14th annual Floyd Artisan Trail invites you on a self-guided journey through the heart of Floyd County, Virginia, where art, agriculture, and Appalachian culture come to life.
With 25 unique stops, this year's trail features a vibrant mix of working artist studios, family-run farms, local galleries, shops, and eateries—all opening their doors for a behind-the-scenes look at the creative forces that shape this one-of-a-kind community.
Start at the Heart: Floyd Center for the Arts
Your trail experience begins at the Floyd Center for the Arts, the official hub of the event. Here you can:
Pick up a trail map and brochure
Watch live pottery demonstrations
View gallery exhibitions
Meet several participating artists in one location
It’s the perfect launchpad for planning your route and immersing yourself in Floyd’s artistic energy.
What You’ll Discover on the Trail
From ceramics and woodworking to painting, weaving, and mixed media, the trail is rich with opportunities to see artists at work and learn about their craft. Several local farms are also participating, offering fresh produce, farm goods, and a chance to meet the animals that call Floyd home.
Along the way, you'll find stops at local businesses and restaurants, offering everything from handmade goods to homestyle meals. And if you want to make a weekend of it, Hotel Floyd, one of this year’s official stops and sponsors, offers a cozy stay right in the heart of town.
2025 Floyd Artisan Trail
Saturday & Sunday, June 7 & 8 10am-5pm
Welcome to the Floyd Artisan Trail
Venture deep into the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where local artisans and agrarian cultures share their creative passions and open their studio doors and pasture gates for an authentic Floyd experience!
Visit local artisan studios, galleries, shops, and farms to learn more about skills handed down through generations, and experience the contemporary art, craft, agriculture, and music that has evolved in this unique region.
Meet potters, woodworkers, jewelers, glass artists, fine artists, photographers, beekeepers, farmers, and others who look forward to sharing the story of their craft, art or tradition.
The deep traditions found in Floyd have provided the foundation for a vital and growing creative community. Over the years, Floyd has emerged as one of Virginia’s most diverse artistic communities, extending its participation beyond county lines. These efforts have not only grown our own creative economy but has solidified Floyd as a permanent keystone in Virginia's art scene. This Artisan Trail was originally inspired by ‘Round the Mountain and their Artisan Trails of Virginia project.
