Call to Artists - 4th Floyd Plein Air Biennial

Calling all artists! Our Call to Artists for the 4th Floyd Plein Air Biennial is now open! Submit your application for consideration as a participating artist during this exciting week-long festival at The Floyd Center for the Arts, happening September 22-28, 2024. Mark your calendars and get ready to showcase your talents, as well as enjoy the magnetic beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, as you paint sites throughout Floyd County.

 

Fulfilling the role of 2024 event judge, we will welcome Laura McManus, who serves as Curator of Education for the Maier Museum of Art at Randolph College in Lynchburg, VA. Plein air painter and Virginia native Joli Ayn Wood will return as Chairperson for the 2024 event. Artists may apply beginning today, January 3, 2024, to be juried into the event. The application fee is $50 & the deadline to apply is February 14, 2024. The top cash prize for this exhibition is $1000, as well as other cash prizes for “Best of” themes and manufacturer awards and gifts.
