Early Giving for GiveLocalNRV Is Now Open

The Floyd Center for the Arts is proud to participate in GiveLocalNRV, the New River Valley's annual online giving event hosted by the Community Foundation of the New River Valley.

Early Giving is now open, allowing supporters to make their gifts before Giving Day officially begins at noon on June 24 and continues through noon on June 25.

What Is GiveLocalNRV?

GiveLocalNRV is a regional day of giving that brings together nonprofits and community members to celebrate generosity and invest in the organizations that strengthen our communities. In addition to helping nonprofits raise critical funds, GiveLocalNRV offers opportunities to earn bonus prizes and matching funds throughout the campaign.

For the Floyd Center for the Arts, GiveLocalNRV is our most critical source of unrestricted annual support.

While grants and designated gifts help fund specific projects and improvements, GiveLocalNRV helps sustain the people, programs, and operations that make everything else possible.

Your Impact at FCA

Thanks to the support of our community, in 2025 the Floyd Center for the Arts:

  • Welcomed more than 7,800 visitors

  • Served nearly 800 students

  • Supported more than 400 artists through exhibitions and vendor opportunities

  • Expanded classes, visiting artists, partnerships, and educational programming

  • Welcomed more than 1,900 attendees to the Floyd Living Traditions Festival, now one of the largest free one-day cultural events in Floyd County

Every donation helps ensure that the Floyd Center for the Arts remains a vibrant hub for creativity, learning, and community connection.

Help Us Reach Our $40,000 Goal

This GiveLocalNRV, FCA is raising $40,000 to help sustain operations and continue building the future of arts, craft, and culture in our community.

Your gift helps:

  • Keep classes accessible

  • Provide scholarships

  • Expand arts and craft education opportunities

  • Preserve handmade traditions

  • Support local and regional artists

  • Keep the Floyd Center for the Arts safe, staffed, active, and open to the community year-round

Building for the Future

As community interest in arts education and creative experiences continues to grow, FCA is investing in expanded programming, an ongoing metalsmithing studio renovation, and the expansion of our solar infrastructure, which is projected to offset nearly 40% of utility costs.

These investments are helping FCA reach broader audiences while strengthening long-term sustainability, ensuring that the Floyd Center for the Arts remains a vibrant community resource for generations to come.

Save the Date: Kickoff Power Hour

Supporters can help FCA compete for an additional $500 prize during the GiveLocalNRV Kickoff Power Hour on Wednesday, June 24 from 12–1 PM.

During this hour, the nonprofit with the highest number of unique donors will receive a $500 bonus prize. Every donor counts, regardless of gift size, meaning even a gift of $5 can help FCA earn additional funding.
