Dear Friends of the Floyd Center for the Arts, Thank you for your support during this difficult time. I wanted to fill you in on what we are doing during this time of extreme restrictions on our ordinary activities, and how we are keeping our staff safe. · Closure – The Art Center will be closed until the threat to our staff and visitors is over. There will be no events or programs during this time. A staff member will contact affected individuals regarding specific events and refunds or rescheduling. · Staff Safety – There will be only 4 of us working until the Center can open again. We have cut back our hours and significantly reduced our time in the office. We will spend some time at the Center but we are staggering work schedule to limit possible contact to the virus and others. · Student activities – The Center will be supporting parents, children, and learners of all kinds by sharing resources in the arts through electronic means – Social media, emails… · Promotions for Floyd area artists – We are promoting online sales of Floyd area artists through our website and social media presence. We want to encourage the online buying of art from the Floyd area. · Clearinghouse for critical COVID-19 info – We are carefully monitoring information from State, Local and National experts and leaders about the virus and will be sharing critical information with our stakeholders. · Preparing to re-open – During this closure we will be prepared to resume our work as soon as we are able. This will mean continually updating our calendar and schedule based on new information from officials. I want to thank you again for your amazing support of the Arts in Floyd.
