The difference between eczema and psoriasis lies mainly in their appearance, causes, and triggers. Eczema produces red, dry, and extremely itchy skin, often linked to allergies and environmental irritants. Psoriasis, however, creates raised, scaly plaques that may appear silvery and thick. It’s an autoimmune disorder where skin cells grow too quickly. The difference between eczema and psoriasis also extends to their affected areas—eczema favors body folds, while psoriasis targets scalp, elbows, and knees. Consulting a dermatologist helps determine the correct condition and treatment plan for lasting relief.
