About the Exhibition

The Floyd Center for the Arts is pleased to open a call for artists throughout the United States for a national juried exhibition, Earth First. This exhibition aims to explore and celebrate the central theme of Earth stewardship and sustainability. In a world where our environmental consciousness is more important than ever, your artistic voice can be a powerful catalyst for change. Artists exploring themes of sustainability, connection with nature, upcycling media, coordination and relationships between species, climate dialogue, and more through various media are encouraged to apply. Earth First will highlight the delicate balance between human existence and the natural world as seen through environmental consciousness.

This is a national, juried call, and all accepted works will be exhibited in our main gallery space from Saturday, April 20, through Saturday, June 1, 2024. All media will be considered for jurying. Artists are responsible for shipping or delivering work to FCA and for any return shipping. There will be no substitutions allowed. First, second, and third place awards will be granted, as well as a “People’s Choice” award. To participate in this exhibition, a nonrefundable application fee of $25 is required. Artists may apply beginning January 31, 2024, with a deadline of March 20, 2024. Any questions may be submitted via email to programming@floydartcenter.org or by phone.
