Erica Ann Sipes Performs Piano Works by Women

On Saturday, April 18, 4 PM, the Floyd Center for the Arts invites you to an engaging afternoon of live piano music with Erica Ann Sipes, featuring powerful works by women composers from around the globe.

This dynamic program spans more than 300 years of music history and brings forward voices that have too often gone unheard. Featuring works by Marianna Martines, Florence Price, Margaret Bonds, Germaine Tailleferre, Mélanie Bonis, Lili Boulanger, Anna von Schaden, Dora Pejačević, and Madeleine Dring, the performance pairs expressive piano music with stories and insights about the women behind the compositions. Many of these composers are only now gaining wider recognition as their scores become more accessible and musicians work together to expand the classical repertoire.
