Class Description

This course will teach the student to generate ideas for artwork beyond typical life drawing or photo reference subject matter. By implementing collage and assemblage techniques, we will harness the imagination to develop new and surprising imagery. The new composition formed from the collage will act as a seed idea. This idea will be transferred to paper, where the student will learn to use their drawing skill to complete a fully realized artwork. All skill levels are welcome. Key points of the class will include: - Generating ideas for artwork - Techniques for transferring a sketch, photograph, or reference to drawing paper - Rendering the diea in pencil or other material
