Class Description

In this hand building class, we'll make the holy grail of all potters, the teapot. With the addition of a spout and lid, and the understanding of how the spout works with the handle, you can set yourself free to create your kind of teapot. You will consider the matching cups and a tray. It will be so heart warming to have made the complete set. I encourage students to bring ideas and or research to the first class.

Materials List

Wear clothes you don't mind getting messy or bring an apron.

Minimum Age

18 and older, exceptions with special permission

About the Instructor

I come from a broad background in the creative field. I have been a jeweler, a seamstress, a costume designer, a pattern maker for clothing, a makeup artist, and a portrait artist. As a professor of Costume Design I have taught all sorts of students to create the most amazing things. Of all the mediums I have used, clay is the most engaging and forgiving. It has special rules, but it is also willing to do so much. There is nothing like playing with mud! Then you can dry it, fire it, glaze it and end up with you own masterpiece.

Class Registration and Cancellation Policy

Advance Registration Required.

Registration: Class registrations are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cancellation/Refund: The Floyd Center for the Arts will conduct classes for which an adequate number of students are registered. Class status is determined 1 week before the first date of the class, unless otherwise noted. Acceptance of payment does not guarantee that a class will run. If the Center must cancel a scheduled class, students who registered for such classes will be given the opportunity to transfer their payments to another course or receive a full refund of their tuition payment.

Student Withdrawals: Students withdrawing from a class before the cancellation period has ended, (one week prior to the start of class, unless otherwise noted) can receive a full refund or may transfer their payments to another class of their choice. Students who withdraw after the cancellation period has closed or after class has started, will not receive a refund.
