About the Instructor
I began sewing in my teens and eventually turned my skills into a home based design workroom making custom draperies, slipcovers, soft furnishing, pillows for private clients and designers in making custom draperies, slipcovers, soft furnishing, pillows for private clients and designers in New Jersey. The design aspect of creating useful and artistic items from fabrics and leather has held my interest for years. I have been bag maker as both a hobby and profession for years. Slow fashion and making my own clothes is also something that I enjoy and encourage others to participate in. Repurposing and upcycling are skills that I think everyone should practice and I encourage students to find and give new life to older materials reworked into artistic and utilitarian items. I have lived in Floyd with my husband and two dogs for nine years. I enjoy watercolor painting and gardening along with traveling and fly fishing.
