Vine & Design: Grapevine Basketry (FIB-102924-2)

Participants in the Grapevine Basket Class will construct a simple shape using grapevines for the frame of the basket. There will be many different types of weaving materials to create your own individual basket such as dyed reed, yarn, lace, jute, hemp, copper wire, etc. It’s fun creating these baskets because no 2 are alike! Students should have completed a prior basketry class or have their own prior experience. Each participant will come away with information on Appalachian Baskets, their origins, and their uses. Information will be provided on how to order supplies for future baskets.
