Two youth exhibitions are on display December 8, 2023 - February 3, 2024, both highlighting the talents of local young artists! In the Hayloft Gallery, we present the Floyd County High School Exhibition, and the Blue Mountain School Exhibition is displayed in the Falcon Gallery.
In our Hayloft Gallery, Floyd County High School art students brought over 200 works created in their art classes for their annual exhibition. Instructors Aven Tanner and Kimberly Ingram have led their students through various media, including pen and ink, graphite, acrylic painting, 3D sculpture, clay, fibers, and more. Over 70 student artists’ works are present in this exhibition.
What is on display is the result of months of creation while simultaneously learning the medium itself. Floyd Center for the Arts is honored to host our talented students and encourages these students to continue on their creative paths.
In the Falcon Gallery, we are thrilled and excited for the Blue Mountain School Exhibition. The Blue Mountain School is a Contemplative Progressive educational community in Floyd, Virginia. As a Contemplative Progressive school, the organization is committed to providing a holistic approach to education that nurtures the mind and the heart & the rational and the creative.
