Books to be made include: Flower Fold, Accordion Fold, Stab Binding, Photo Fold, Smash Book and more! No experience required.
About the Instructor – I make art journals, artists’ books, mixed media collage and altered books. I collect items throughout the day, including receipts, stickers from fruits and vegetables, discarded magazines, books, etc and use the items in my many personal art journals and altered books. I believe that everyone should keep a record of his or her life, rather it be in word, images or a combination of both. I have a documented life, a concept that I have been participating in for over 15 years. I create many of my own papers that I use in my mixed media collages using acrylic paint and spray inks. The patterns that are incorporated into my papers are created using found items such as bubble wrap, corks and a myriad of other items that I find. My handwriting is an important part of creating pattern in my art. I have a deep love of cola pens (making a calligraphy style pen out of a discarded aluminum can) and will often journal my day with this writing implement.
