In this class, we will take the intimidation out of watercolors and use them to explore relaxing and fun ways to open up your creativity. Participants will learn the three most commonly used methods of color application, work in both liquid and dry cake paint and be able to find that perfect balance between water and color. Students will take with them techniques that they will continually rely on as they move forward in their creative lives. No experience necessary!
As the daughter of an art teacher I acquired a love for drawing and painting at an early age and my mother and I continue to share a love of all things art. Though I dedicated my life to a career in horticulture, the lessons that she taught me about form and line, contrast and color, were easily incorporated into and were the foundation for all of my garden planning projects and landscape designs. Now that I am retired I am delighted at the opportunity to be returning to my easel. I happily dabble in any medium, however I am most content when working with colored pencil and watercolors.
