Floyd Center for the Arts is Seeking a New Director of Programming
The Floyd Center for the Arts seeks a self-motivated leader in our arts community to develop, coordinate, and maintain arts educational programming, gallery exhibits and special events at the Center. This is a 30-40 hour week position and reports to the Executive Director.
Director of Programming position responsibilities include: developing and maintaining relationships with artists and instructors, scheduling educational arts experiences/classes/workshops for youth and adults, organizing and facilitating special events/fundraisers/festivals, designing printed marketing materials, updating website, supervising supporting staff and volunteers, managing forge, metalsmithing, printmaking, glass and ceramic studio spaces, teaching arts activities, and other duties as needed. An ideal candidate will have a background in education, gallery/retail management, non-profit organization and past experience working with area artists and arts organizations. A successful candidate will demonstrate a “can do” attitude, problem-solving skills, good customer service skills, must be a team player willing to help the Center achieve its stated mission “to facilitate and showcase artistic endeavors and creativity; to provide education in the arts throughout our rural community and region”.
Candidates must have:
• College degree in a related field or at least 3 years experience in a similar position
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Creative Cloud and/or Canva
• Excellent Time Management and Organizational Skills
• Exceptional Communication Skills
• Willingness to support all staff and volunteers throughout Center
• Extensive knowledge of visual art
